eBay Fee Calculator

Final value fees, fixed fees and store costs in one view.

eBay charges a final value fee that is a percentage of the item price plus shipping, plus a small fixed fee per order. Category, seller level and store subscription all change the exact rate, so the default here is a common approximation you should adjust.

Enter your item cost and real shipping cost to see whether a listing actually makes money — and the minimum price you need to break even.

Formula

eBay fees = final value fee % × (item + shipping) + $0.30 per order

Most categories sit near a 13.25% final value fee, but some are much lower or higher. If you pay for an eBay store, allocate the monthly subscription across your expected orders and enter it as the store fee per order.

How to calculate it

  1. Enter the item price and the shipping you charge the buyer.
  2. Set the final value fee to match your category and seller level.
  3. Include your item cost and actual shipping cost.
  4. Compare profit to the break-even price before you list or accept an offer.

FAQ

What is eBay's final value fee?

For many categories it is about 13.25% of the item price plus shipping, with a fixed $0.30 per-order fee. Categories and seller levels differ, so confirm the rate for your listing.

Does eBay charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The final value fee is generally calculated on the total the buyer pays, including shipping and handling.

Is an eBay store worth it?

A store lowers some fees and includes free listings, but adds a monthly subscription. Allocate that cost per order to see the true break-even.

Are promoted listings included?

Not automatically. Add your promoted-listings ad rate in the optional ad field to see its effect on profit.
